Neighborhood OIA Resident Resources

In recent years, some Oakenshawe residents have been disturbed by unruly Johns Hopkins University students, noise, parties, and trash. The Oakenshawe Improvement Association is working with JHU officials and other affected neighborhoods to monitor and improve the situation. The board keeps the neighborhood informed on all developments on these issues.

What can we do about problem students?
The first line of redress on student issues is to contact the Johns Hopkins University security office at 410-516-7777 to report a student problem, problematic student party, or other event.

For ongoing or severe student noise problems, you may also contact Carrie Bennett, the Hopkins student-community liaison who helps manage relations between students and residents. Bennett monitors parties and communicates any complaints from neighbors to the students and will intervene with students to mitigate any problems. She may be reached through the security office number (410-516-7777) or at liaison@jhu.edu.

If you are awakened in the middle of the night, do not hesitate to call 911.
